The Vice President of Finance is responsible for leading the financial strategy, operations, and performance of Minds Matter, LLC. This executive role oversees financial planning, budgeting, accounting, revenue cycle management, and fiscal compliance. The VP ensures sound financial stewardship, supports data-driven decision-making, and promotes long-term financial sustainability aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals.

This executive role oversees financial planning, budgeting, accounting, revenue cycle management, and fiscal compliance. The VP ensures sound financial stewardship, supports data-driven decision-making, and promotes long-term financial sustainability aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
  • As a key member of Minds Matter, LLC’s executive leadership team, the VP of Finance plays a strategic role in advancing the organization’s financial health and operational excellence.
  • Directly supervises the Director of Finance, Director of Accounting, Authorizations and Billing Manager.
  • Participates in cross-functional leadership discussions, ensuring that financial strategies align with organizational priorities and performance metrics.

  • Actively participates in:
    • Weekly Level-10 leadership meetings to assess progress, review KPIs, resolve operational issues, and guide strategic initiatives.
    • Monthly data analysis meetings and quarterly leadership reviews to evaluate financial and operational performance.
    • All finance-related meetings to support collaborative planning and performance improvement.
Leads monthly financial review meetings with the leadership team to perform in-depth budget variance analysis, monitor financial trends, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions and strategic investments

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide financial leadership in the development and implementation of short- and long-term organizational financial strategies.
  • Deliver financial forecasts, pro forma statements, and fiscal impact assessments to guide executive decision-making.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reports, statements, and dashboards.
  • Develop and enforce finance department policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory and audit standards.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual budget development processes in collaboration with department leaders.
  • Analyze monthly financial results, identify variances from budget and projections, and implement corrective measures.
  • Oversee financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and banking relationships.
  • Evaluate business development initiatives, mergers, and partnerships from a financial feasibility perspective.
  • Collaborate on contract negotiations and legal document reviews; collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
  • Oversee medical billing operations and ensure alignment with billing systems, reimbursement structures, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain fiscal compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance requirements.
  • Ensure optimal use of financial and human capital resources to support strategic growth and cost efficiency.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive senior-level financial leadership experience, preferably within healthcare or human services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead finance teams, manage multi-department operations, and drive results across functional areas.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, ERP software, NetSuite, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical mindset.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data, translate insights into action, and communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in aligning financial practices with organizational goals.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Direct experience working with Medicaid programs, including understanding of reimbursement methodologies, cost reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) or Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS), including capitation and value-based care financial models.
  • Knowledge of claims processing, provider reimbursement, and healthcare analytics for Medicaid populations.
  • Understanding of Medicaid waiver programs (e.g., 1115, 1915(c)) and funding structures for high-needs or vulnerable populations.
  • Experience collaborating with state Medicaid agencies or leading government-funded health initiatives.
